The Changing Heart

The human heart is a fickle thing, swaying to and fro according to circumstances and the vicissitudes of time. One moment it can be passionate, another apathetic, one moment 'in love' and another moment out of it. If we try to find permanence in other fellow humans, we will be disappointed because everyone and everything changes. I realized the other day that the only permanent and unchanging thing in the world is God's love for us.

The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?
